The American Heart Association (AHA) is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to build healthier lives free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. AHA’s impact goal is to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by: reducing the death rate from coronary heart disease and stroke; reducing the prevalence of smoking, high blood cholesterol and physical inactivity; reducing the rate of uncontrolled high blood pressure; and eliminating the growth of obesity and diabetes.
The AHA website provides information on cardiovascular diseases and stroke for patients, caregivers, health-care professionals, and researchers and scientists.
